At the recent Lucky Ball Open I tournament, the atmosphere was charged with excitement and high-level performances. A total of 25 players participated, including guests from Poland: 5 representatives from the "Olymp" club in Wrocław and player Maksim Koshovyi from Jeżów Sudecki. The games were played up to 5 wins in both the upper and lower brackets, providing spectators with many thrilling matches.
One of the most exciting matches was between Sergey Syvets, representing our club, and Polish player Vitalii Dzinhel. Sergey, trailing 1-4, managed to even the game and bring it to a deciding frame, but Vitaliy was able to pull himself together at the decisive moment and win.
The tournament sensation was the performance of Nikolay Savchin, who eliminated two favorites on his way to the final: Mikhail Kusen with a score of 5-3 in the quarterfinal and Bogdan Shmyrko with a score of 6-3 in the semifinal. However, in the final, Nikolay lost to Rostyslav Bovonenko with a score of 7-2.
Rostyslav also demonstrated confident play throughout the tournament. On his way to the final, he defeated future finalist Nikolay Savchin with a score of 5-2, then won against a strong player from Wrocław, Evgeny Singayevsky, with the same score. In the semifinal, Rostyslav faced Dmitry Mikhailov from Wrocław in a tense match. Rostislav took the lead at 3-0, but after the break, Dmitry leveled the score to 3-3. At 4-4, Rostislav won last two frames in one visit, first taking advantage of Dmitry's error on the break off and then after Dmitry's first approach to the table in the last frame.
The final between Rostyslav and Nikolay ended with the same result as their previous playoff encounter. Nikolay won two games, but Rostislav once again proved stronger.
Congratulations to the winners and all participants for exciting and memorable matches!
